FAQs

FAQs
Shopping & Products
Q: Are Suepla bags truly one of a kind?

A: Yes. Every piece of Sakiori cloth is woven by hand from old fabric—no two pieces are the same. The pattern, the color, the texture: they cannot be repeated. When a bag is sold, it is gone forever. We do not make duplicates.

Q: Who makes Suepla products?

A: Two hands, in two places. The cloth is woven by grandmothers in the Dai villages of Dehong, Yunnan. The bags are then hand-stitched by urban artisans who share our commitment to quality and care. You will find the weaver’s name on every product page—because we believe you should know who made your bag.

Q: How do I choose the right bag for me?

A: Each product page includes detailed dimensions, weight, and strap length. We also include photos of the bag on different body types and in real-life settings. If you are still unsure, contact us at hello@suepla.com—we are happy to help you find the right piece.

Shipping & Customs
Q: Where do you ship?

A: We ship worldwide. Most orders are delivered within 7–15 business days, depending on your location. We ship from our warehouse, and all orders are fully trackable.

Q: How much is shipping?

A: Standard shipping is $15. Orders over $200 qualify for free shipping. We use carriers that prioritize careful handling—your bag deserves to arrive safely.

Q: Will I have to pay customs fees or import taxes?

A: Customs fees vary by country. We ship using DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) to most destinations, meaning all duties are prepaid and you will not owe anything upon delivery. For a few countries where DDP is not available, any customs fees are the responsibility of the customer. You will be notified before checkout if this applies to your order.

Returns & Care
Q: What is your return policy?

A: We accept returns within 30 days of delivery. The item must be unused and in its original packaging. Please contact us at hello@suepla.com to initiate a return. Return shipping is covered by the customer unless the item arrived damaged or defective.

Q: What if my bag needs repair?

A: Sakiori cloth is made to last, but we also believe in mending what we love. We offer lifetime repair services for all Suepla bags. Minor repairs (such as stitching) are free of charge; major repairs (such as lining replacement) are offered at a nominal cost. Contact us at hello@suepla.com and we will guide you through the process.

Q: How should I care for my Suepla bag?

A: Sakiori cloth is strong, but it prefers gentle care. Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid machine washing or soaking. Store your bag in the cotton dust bag included with your order, away from direct sunlight. With simple care, it will accompany you for many years.

Our Promise
Q: How does Suepla support the weavers?

A: We purchase Sakiori cloth directly from weavers in Dehong—no middlemen, no negotiation. We pay a premium that honors their time and skill. We also reinvest a portion of our profits into projects identified by the weavers themselves, such as preserving weaving techniques or supporting younger generations to learn.

Q: Is Suepla sustainable?

A: Sakiori is sustainability itself. It takes old fabric—cloth that would otherwise be discarded—and rewovens it into something new. We continue this practice in everything we do: natural dyes whenever possible, biodegradable packaging, no overproduction. And because we offer lifetime repair, your Suepla bag is made to last, not to be replaced.

Q: Can I visit the weavers or see where the cloth is made?

A: We believe in transparency, but we also believe in protecting the privacy and daily life of the weavers. While we do not offer public tours, we share their stories, their faces, and their villages through our website, our Letters from Dehong, and our social media. You are always welcome to write to us at hello@suepla.com—we will share what we can.

Q: I have a question that isn‘t answered here.

A: Please reach out to us at hello@suepla.com. We read every message and will respond within 2 business days. Whether you are curious about a specific piece, need help with sizing, or simply want to say hello—we would love to hear from you.
